She is a qualified mediator and part of the core team of the Goa Mediation and Reconciliation Centre, which aims to serve the community by resolving family disputes and conflict. 

Gayathri Rao Konkar has over 20 years of experience in counselling and mentoring.   She is currently the counselor at Nirmala Institute of Education. She has been the Student Counsellor at the Goa Institute of Management and continues to do guest lectures at the institute. Besides a private practice in individual and couples counselling, Gayathri conducts mental well-being and life skills workshops in critical areas of need for both students and teachers at high schools and colleges.

With a Postgraduate degree from the prestigious St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai and a PGDM from XIM, Mumbai she worked in the corporate sector before moving to the Social and Educational sector. With a Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance and Counseling she consolidated her outreach work with adolescents and young adults.

She is also the program coordinator for Nirmala Institute of Education – Centre for Excellence in education Elementary Education and the NIE Raintree Community Initiatives. Both of which work towards the introduction of creativity in elementary education.
